Prefectorial Board Structure - Committees

Hey prefects, as promised, the committees are open for all to further their service to the Prefectorial Board. Please note that you are not guaranteed a place in your chosen committee , however, we will look into your interest and area of dedication. Therefore, if you're interested in joining any one of the committees, you may drop us an email at nevin.tan@sjipb.com or bryan.lum@sjipb.com (by friday 19th Feb 2010)

I. Special projects committee

a. Serves as a platform for prefects to facilitate special school events/initiatives eg. Carnival, hair for hope etc

II. Discipline committee

a. In charge of all matters with regards to discipline in the school, all daily duties of prefects etc.

b. Helps EXCO with collection of GL reports and handling of suggestions of GLs for duties

c. Benchmarks discipline of prefects – Attire etc.

III. Prefects’ Welfare committee

a. Responsible for well-being of every member of the Board

b. Strives to keep the Prefectorial Board bonded, creating a supportive environment in initiating projects

c. Organize gatherings/farewells to enhance cohesiveness within the Board

IV. Events committee

a. In charge of liaising with teachers in charge of calendar events (Chinese New Year, Teacher’s Day etc)

b. Providing manpower if necessary

c. Create a platform for wider involvement of students (performances, activities etc)

V. Student representation comm.

a. Represents Prefects in Student Leader’s Assembly

VI. External Affairs Committee

a. Liaises with other schools (keeps their contacts)

b. Arranges for prefects to attend investitures
